Let’s Reunite! Camper Reunion on February 22, 2025

We’ve missed you! This summer was filled with unforgettable moments, and we can’t wait to bring a little bit of Kenesserie Camp magic into the winter. That’s why we’re thrilled to invite you to our Camper Reunion! Join us as we gather to reconnect, relive memories, and make new ones:

📅 Date: Saturday, February 22, 2025
⏰ Time: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM (Program starts at 2:15, please arrive before then, this is not a drop-in event)
📍 Location: St. Andrew’s United Church, Chatham

What’s Happening?

  • 🎲 Camp Games: Bring your energy for some classic camp fun!
  • 🔥 Indoor Campfire Program: Share songs, stories, and laughter as we recreate the magic of campfires.
  • 🍫 S’mores Galore: A sweet treat you won’t want to miss!
  • 👕 Sneak Peek: Check out some of our 2025 Kenesserie Camp merch before anyone else!

While your kids are enjoying the camp fun, there will be a lounge area for parents to socialize while they wait.

We’d love for you to bring along a friend who might be interested in experiencing Kenesserie Camp. It’s a great opportunity for them to see what camp is all about, meet some of our staff, and hear firsthand from you why Kenesserie Camp is such a special place.

From 3:30 to 4:00 PM, we’ll also host a Parent Information Session with Dan Richards, our Executive Director. This will be a fantastic opportunity to learn more about our 2025 camp program, ask questions, and hear about exciting updates for the upcoming summer.

We’re so excited to see you there and bring the Kenesserie Camp spirit to life in the middle of winter! Thank you for being such an important part of our community.

Keep an eye out for an email next week with an RSVP form!

Here are some articles on how to (safely) have fun in the winter!

How to Dress Kids for Winter for Hours of Outdoor Fun
“There’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes. When you know the best winter clothes for kids, it’s the difference between a magical snow day ending in hot cocoa and a miserable 15 minutes ending in tears. The key is proper layering. While these principles work for everyone from best winter clothes for babies to adults, I’ll share some specific tips and gear recommendations for toddlers and babies as well.”

12 Creative Games to Play Outdoors in Winter
“Don’t let winter weather freeze your family’s health. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we should be ready for one of the triple threats: rain, snow or – the occasional – clear cold winter day. Research continually suggests that spending time outdoors has the power to make both our bodies and emotions feel better. Spending time outdoors may encourage better moods, building the immune system, exposure to Vitamin D and improved concentration”

7 Tips For Getting Your Family on Outdoor Adventure Trips
“For starters, abandon any misguided notion that you should “wait until the kids are older”—that’s a formula for winding up with a ‘tweener or teen who’s not interested in any of your wild-eyed notions about spending family time outdoors. My initial motivation was admittedly somewhat selfish. One lesson I learned soon after becoming a father was this: If I wanted to keep getting outside—and especially on big trips—as much as I had before parenthood, I would have to involve my family in the activities I love doing. (That’s why that tip ranks no. 2 in my “10 Tips For Getting Outside More.”) But I also understood that making that effort when they were small would pay dividends as they grew older and more capable.”
